What is different about VinylX MLV?
The two characteristics that stand out are its 0.5 lb-per-square-foot weight and reinforced construction.
Most people comparing mass loaded vinyl eventually encounter 1 lb-per-square-foot material. That remains a common reference point because it adds substantial mass without taking up the space of another thick building layer.
VinylX cuts that weight per square foot in half.

I would not frame either option as automatically better.
If you are building a substantial separating wall and the structure can comfortably support the load, I would normally investigate a conventional 1 lb option before choosing a lighter sheet purely for convenience.

Where can VinylX be used?
The manufacturer lists applications including walls, ceilings, floors, apartments, studios, offices, vans and other noise-control projects.
The important point is that MLV works as part of an assembly rather than as decorative acoustic treatment.
Walls
VinylX can add a flexible mass layer within a wall treatment. The exact placement depends on whether you are working with an open stud wall, adding layers to an existing wall or rebuilding the surface entirely.

Floors
The product can be used as a barrier layer in suitable floor constructions, but do not confuse airborne-noise blocking with impact-noise isolation.
If footsteps and structural impact are the main problem, the floor assembly may also need resilient or decoupling components. MLV alone should not be presented as a universal impact-noise cure.
Ceilings
The lighter 0.5 lb format has an obvious handling advantage overhead, but installation still needs proper mechanical support or an adhesive method appropriate for the construction.
A 32-pound flexible sheet is easier to handle than a 64- or 100-pound roll, but it is still not something I would casually hang overhead without planning the fastening method first.
Vans and automotive applications

Sound will exploit gaps and openings in a barrier. The perimeter, joints, penetrations and transitions between sheets therefore matter just as much as the center of the material.

Screw or adhesive installation
Amazon lists both screw and adhesive installation for VinylX, with adhesive not included.
Which approach is appropriate depends on what the sheet is being attached to and whether another finish layer will cover it.
For walls and especially ceilings, remember that MLV is flexible. An adhesive connection needs to be suitable for the material and substrate, while mechanical fastening needs enough support to prevent sagging, tearing or failure around fixing points.
I would also plan the full sheet layout before installation so unnecessary seams and small offcuts do not create additional leakage paths.
Is reinforced MLV better than ordinary MLV?
Not automatically.
Reinforcement can make a flexible sheet tougher and easier to handle. That can be genuinely useful where the material must be pulled into position, wrapped around irregular surfaces or supported during installation.
But reinforcement and acoustic mass are separate characteristics.
