Company Background
ArrowZoom is a top-grade MNC that markets its products internationally, in Europe, Asia, and Australia along with North America. The company has hundreds of products to offer including various kinds of room kits, underlayments, acoustic foams, and insulations among other materials. It’s safe to say that their MLV is also of very good quality and it really is.
Made with imported materials, the sound-deadening Arrowzoom MLV works as a very good sound barrier.
Product Details
Arrowzoom MLV is available in rolls measuring 50cm x 100cm (19.7” x 39.4”) and is found in two variants: 1.2mm (0.04”) and 2mm (0.08”) thickness. The former costs $50 while the latter charges $80. The material weighs 1 LB per square foot. It has a tear strength of 70 lbs/in and tensile strength of 400 psi. The ultimate elongation stands at 200%, and the flammability is measured at SE 0 in/min. The temperature range withstood by the MLV is -40F to 180F. The product has a stiffness of 15-55 Mpa.
Usage and Other Properties
Unlike many other products in the market, this one is self-adhesive and can be directly cut and pasted onto the floor or walls without there being any need for nails or clips or mounts or adhesives. There is no malodor from the adhesive or the material as such. Being very easy to use and apply on your walls and floors and easy to cut (box cutters) and fit onto various surfaces, there is no problem in using the material for a simple DIY project.
Other than studios and offices, it can also be used on automobiles. Being an alternative to rubber foam sound deadeners, this material filters external sound very well and is also insulative. Thus, you can warm up your rooms and cars without a problem. The thermal barrier also doesn’t let cool air from leaving the place. The panels are multi-purpose and versatile as they can be put up anywhere and are good at absorbing unwanted echoes, waves, and reverberation.
Also, the material is fire-retardant in nature which means that it doesn’t catch fire easily and in case of fire, it doesn’t let it spread quickly. The material is also waterproof and environment-friendly which turns out to be very convenient for the user in the end. It is recommended that you put up another layer of drywall on top of the Arrowzoom MLV. Even though it is self-adhesive, it is advised that you nail it or mount it to the surface for long-term usage. Some of the places where ArrowZoom MLV can be used are Auditoriums, Broadcast Studios, Equipment Enclosures, Gymnasiums, Home Studios, Professional Recording Studios, and Warehousing Facilities.
Final Verdict
ArrowZoom’s MLV is a very flexible and versatile product as it claims to be. Even though it doesn’t provide thicker or denser MLV, the one it gives is good for people who are going to set up their own studio without any professional help. The MLV works surprising well in automobiles and being insulative, it’s an added benefit for users. ArrowZoom is a trustworthy brand and its products can be used by Amateurs and Pros alike as the company always strives to cater to the needs of all.
Good luck and happy soundproofing!
