Company Background
Located in Vernon, California, Mybecca has been in the soundproofing business for quite some time and are known in the market for their value-for-money products which are quite pocket-friendly.
Mybecca’s acoustical treatments include foams and studio panels of various shapes and sizes, which help cover walls on all sides, including the narrow corners. Mybecca explicitly says that their acoustic foams won’t block sound from outside majorly because the purpose of these products is to absorb residual sound, prevent reverberation, and refine the sound.
Products Offered
Mybecca offers 5 types of acoustic foam: Bass traps, Wedges, Corner Fill Blocks, Egg Crates and Hexagon & Bevel.
Bass Trapsspread out like curtains on the corners of your room, attaching the end of one wall to the end of the adjacent one. They usually come in sizes of 12”x12x”12” or 12”x12”x24” (last measure= length). This product of Mybecca has a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 1.32 NRC. Even though they are one of the cheapest in the market, you can expect them to be in prime condition for a very long time. After using this product, it has been found to make the sound crisper and cleaner, and also kill echo in the room.
The Wedges are basically the main studio panels which take care of noise and echo on your 4 walls. They are usually 1 or 2 inches thick and have a length-breadth combination fo 48-36 or 36-24. The product comes in a variety of colours as per your requirements and is said to be good at cutting slap echo and strident treble. Even though it’s not a pro-grade studio panel, it does its job of minimizing noise inside a room best as a cheap solution.
Corner Fill Blocks are supplements to bass traps which ensure that the entire corner of your wall is covered. These 3”x3”x24” blocks are capable enough to deal with standing waves and flutter echo and do quite well in ensuring that there’s no reverb from the room. Mybecca is one of the few companies that sell this product distinctly.
National Consumer Center offers you a chance to get a $500 gift card to Amazon. The payouts are quick, and you can use the Gift Card to pay for some of your Amazon products.
The Egg Crates are 1.5-2 inch thick materials that block noise and deaden sound. These are special sound panels that should be used along with wedges and bass traps for the perfect echo-reduction as well as aesthetic decoration. These flexible materials can also be used otherwise to protect important equipment.
The Egg Crates are 1.5-2 inch thick materials that block noise and deaden sound. These are special sound panels that should be used along with wedges and bass traps for the perfect echo-reduction as well as aesthetic decoration. These flexible materials can also be used otherwise to protect important equipment. However, these aren’t the best Egg crates available in the market; there are many others which can provide good quality at the same price. Thus, these aren’t recommended.
Finally, the Bevelled Tiles and the Hexagonal honeycomb-shaped tiles are good at their work as they can reduce echo and noise in the room. These come in packs of 12, 24 or 48 tiles and are usually 2”x 24”x 24” in size. While this product does excellent in this price range, on the flip side, it usually comes with manufacturing defects, jagged edges, discoloured material and sometimes, the tiles just don’t fit beside each other.
Final Verdict
Our final verdict is that if expenses and utility are more important than aesthetics and looks, you should go for Mybecca. Their products are not of premium quality but durable. Although it is possible to attach them with industrial adhesive, it is advised that you mount them with clips for better results.
Good luck and happy soundproofing!
