You can improve the effectiveness by adding a layer of standard metal stud gypsum board interior wall. If you want to get STC 66, it’s possible but will require an extra steel partition wall as well as drywall and fibreglass insulation. However, just adding Acoustiblok increases the STC of an ordinary wall by a great degree as it increases internal damping and seals the air inside the wall.

The advantage of Acoustiblok is its flexibility which helps adjust to any and all kinds of walls. It is possible to use Acoustiblok on wall designs that have a fire protection rating of U300, U400 and U400 series besides floor and ceiling construction in the L500 series.

Acoustiblok is an industrial/construction product. The dimensions are customizable. The sheets are usually 30 feet long and 54 inches wide, which ensures smooth transportation. Each roll of Acoustiblok thus weighs approximately 135 pounds at this size. It is possible for the customer to order larger rolls which can be 60 to a massive 350 feet in length.

Final Review

Finally, we want to remind everyone that Acoustiblok is NOT for personal use. If you are going to have your house renovated or remodeled or if you’re going to have a new house-made on a fresh plot of land, then you can ask your construction agency to use this material if you plan on having a totally soundproof house. The material is not easy to handle. You have to employ professionals to use this material. But, ultimately, using this material in the construction of your house makes it echo-free and sound-dampening to an incredible degree.

Good luck and happy soundproofing!
